The following histories and historical commentaries are helpful resources in preparing for the World Missions unit.
Church History by Fr. John Laux (TAN books)
This church history is written for a college prep high school audience
and assumes a basic knowledge of European history. Starting at the dawn of
the Roman Empire and proceeding in to the 20th century, Fr. Laux presents
the story of the Church is a masterful and readable manner appealing to
older students as well as adults. The period of interest for the World Missions unit,
covers 1500-1700 A.D., and corresponds to chapter IV from 'Section III, Period One.

Blood Drenched Altars by Fr. Francis Kelly (TAN books)
This Catholic commentary on Mexican history corrects a great many misconceptions
and errors regarding the history of Mexico from the Conquest of the Aztecs to
the Mexican Revolution. It shows how Catholic Spain during 300 years--1521-1821--formed
Mexico and made her prosperous and happy, but how the great Masonic Revolution
(1821-1928) has made her poor and miserable.
